At the end of this course, students will become testing specialists who are better able to troubleshoot network problems, analyze traces, and calibrate different types of OTDRs. Students will also be well-prepared to learn expert fiber characterization techniques.

To become a “Master” in testing, students must obtain an understanding of the advanced concepts of fiber optic testing. The Master in Fiber Optic Testing certification is a perfect complement for experienced technicians who already have some kind of field experience. Hands-on testing labs, along with advanced techniques and industry “best practices” are featured in this high-level course (GSC-MFT).

A Master in Fiber Optic Testing certification provides validation of the skills, abilities, knowledge and techniques required to work as a certified “Master” in fiber optic testing.

• In this extensive hands-on training each participants will:
• Set up and calibrate equipment appropriate for each task
• Test a link representative of each environment

Each Student will have a good firm of test equipment including Power Meters, Light Sources and application-specific OTDRs.

As a Masters-Level course, it is advised that students have had several years of field experience or have taken our Technician courses.
